STEP 1 Check you have everything you need, i.e., Pocket/ tube of Aqua-Glue/Yellow Crayon/Cardboard Template.

STEP 2 Get in to your drysuit (including your undersuit, if you usually wear one), take the pocket and place this on the suit where you would like it to be fixed. Make sure that it does not get in the way of any other equipment).

STEP 3 When you have the pocket in the correct position with the help of a friend slide the cardboard template under the pocket. Keeping the template against the suit at all time draw around the cardboard template with the yellow crayon provided.

STEP 4 Take the drysuit off and lay it on a flat surface, i.e., a table or bench. Take the tube of Aqua-Glue and apply a layer on to the inside edge of the crayon mark (about 1”/2.5cms). Make an cross in the centre approx 1/2”/1 1/2 cms in width and 5”/131/2 cms in length. Place the pocket away from the suit and allow to dry.

STEP 5 Glue the inside edges on the tape sewn onto the edges of the pocket and a little way in to the cloth of the pocket, the same width as on the suit and place a cross in the centre (to correspond with the cross on the suit.

STEP 6 Allow approx 20 minutes for the Aqua-Glue to dry, then apply a further coat. Let this completely dry for approx 30 minutes.

STEP 7 When dry the Aqua-Glue should be a little shiny and should not have soaked in to the material completely. If the Aqua-Glue has soaked in then apply a further coat (3 coats in total) and leave for a further 30 minutes approx.

STEP 8 To fix the pocket on to the drysuit get someone to hold the drysuit still whilst you apply the edges of the pocket first to the edges of the glue on the drysuit, following the edge round carefully, allowing none of the Aqua-Glue to show.

STEP 9 When you have made sure the pocket is in the correct position with no glued edges shown press down firmly on all edges using the handled end of a screw driver (or an other blunt ended instrument). A good bond should have be achieved almost immediately, and this should be 100% within 24 hours.
